Storm
Shed Shelter
 This
shelter was constructed using the 3.5" Structural Insulated Panels for the sidewalls and roof.
The steel studs are 18 gauge and set at 16" on center.
It was designed to be a simple free standing
shelter not attached to the existing residence. Fastened to an existing
4" concrete sidewalk with Tapcon fasteners and adhesive, this
shelter will provide a safer place for several people during Mother
Nature's best shot. It is covered with Hardi Panel cement board siding
for added protection and durability. The door is an impact rated door.
Even the vent in the sidewall is storm rated.
Being under 8' in height, less than 120 square
feet of area with no electrical installed, this shelter can be built in
most jurisdictions as a "storage shed" without a building
permit. (check with your local building department) This storm shelter
can be built in several days by a couple of men. |
