OPTIMIZE DESIGNS WITH PLATINUM GUIDELINES
Designing with Platinum Technology™ (patent
pending) products is nearly identical to designing with
conventional 2x4 or 2x6 framing. The structural and design criteria follow
the accepted practices found in the 2001 AISI Specification for Design of
Cold-Formed Steel Framing and other code references, such as SBC, UBC, IRC
and BOCA.
PAT has developed their Guidelines for Designing
with Platinum Advanced Technologies™ products, it is downloadable here.
Within this design resource, there are:
• architectural specifications, in CSI Master format
• detail drawings of some typical condition
• reference to some industry framing and load information
• our Assembly
Manual.

| What
Does Platinum Technology Do for You? |
We solve problems. And the benefits of
building a home with our technology flow from you to your customers.
Consider these advantages:
- We use dimensions that you and your crews work
with every day...3½" for walls and 5½" for roofs.
- We eliminate sheathing outside...you save on
preparation for stucco, brick or siding.
- Your cost of building is no more than
conventional construction – stick-and-batt or masonry - yet the
features and benefits to your customers allow premium pricing.
- Our materials are easier to handle and need
less care than other building materials...impervious to water and can
store uncovered on any surface.
- When our products reach your sites they meet
your precise needs and specifications for every door, every window.
There is no loss to scrap...you get exactly what you need.
- You’ll notice fewer callbacks from
customers...walls are plumb and straight inside and outside, corners
are square...walls won’t twist, warp or crack.
- You’ll save time and find scheduling trades
and finish work easier than ever…your houses go up faster...30 to 40
days faster...and that means better cash flow and greater capacity.
- You have incredible flexibility...you can use
our wall technology with either our ceiling or roof technology. A
ceiling choice means the building envelope has less volume...so your
customers gain optimal energy efficiency. But aesthetics – a desire
to use exposed beams or cathedral ceilings – might dictate a roof
technology choice. Even so, it’s more energy efficient than other
building materials and methods. You make the call based on what best
meets your needs and your customers’ desires.
What Does Platinum Technology Do for Your
Customers?
So, how do the benefits of Platinum Technology flow from you to your
customers? Again, consider the advantages:
- Their building envelope is built using a product
that passed the large missile impact
test.
- They save dramatically on heating and cooling
bills…electric bills are half those of conventionally built homes of
comparable size month after month and year after year.
- They live in safer, more comfortable homes
that cost less to maintain…no wood to fuel fires or feed
termites…and less chance for mold, mildew and allergy problems.
- They move in sooner because the homes you
build with our walls, ceilings and roofs go up faster.
- They get tighter homes regardless of where
they build with better sound attenuating properties.
In addition to this resource, our competent
design staff is available by phone
or e-mail to discuss any specific need or questions. We all learn
together and benefit by interaction among professionals. We look forward
to working with you.
